Academic Excellence Program

CBC Fremantle's Academic Excellence Program (AEP) is designed for top-achieving students, offering a dynamic, stimulating learning environment for boys excelling across core subjects. Selected AEP students join extension classes, exploring enriched and accelerated coursework alongside peers who share their drive. Specialist teachers nurture creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills for deeper understanding in today's evolving world. Continued program participation requires sustained academic excellence each semester.

AEP students enjoy priority access to premier events and tours such as:

  • Da Vinci Decathlon
  • World Scholar's Cup
  • Academy Conferences Symposium for Gifted Students
  • Brainways STEM School of Excellence
  • TEDx Kings Park Youth Event
  • STEM immersion tour to New Zealand
  • HASS exploration tour to Sydney and Canberra

These experiences help students seek personal excellence, celebrate achievement and build lifelong memories with their AEP peers.

AEP students also receive tailored advice on electives to suit their strengths and are encouraged to join co-curriculars for further growth.

Gifted and Talented – Year 8 and above

CBC Fremantle also runs Gifted and Talented testing, with customised learning plans and support for identified students, including those identified as twice exceptional.

Lumina - Year 7

Lumina is CBC Fremantle's dedicated Year 7 Gifted and Talented program, nurturing boys with exceptional intellect, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Rooted in Catholic and Edmund Rice values, Lumina offers enriched learning, challenging projects, and mentorship, while fostering deep engagement with ethics, philosophy, and religious education. Through the Ignite, Illuminate, Inspire pathway, students discover their strengths and grow as innovative, community-minded leaders.
