Year 7 2025 -
The Journey starts here
In order to prepare for the arrival of our newest CBC Gentlemen, it is important that we are provided with any up-to-date information that may help us to further understand your son and his needs. We aim to make every boy's transition into high school as smooth and welcoming as possible so that he has the best start to his CBC Journey!
Please contact Registrar Emma Polain via email enrol@cbcfremantle.wa.edu.au should contact details or other information pertaining to your son's education change prior to Term 4 2024.
House Allocations
Year 7 2025 students will receive their House allocation via email by the end of Term 3 2024.
Testing Session - Friday 25 October 2024
To gain a better understanding of student's academic capabilities, the College will conduct a series of tests covering both Literacy and Numeracy on Friday 25 October at the following session times.
9.00 am – 11.30 am Kelly, Morgan, O'Connor House
1.30 pm – 4.00 pm: Patrick, Rice & Samson House
The boys need to arrive 15 minutes before their selected session. Please enter through Ellen Street gates and walk through to the Cloisters to check in with staff members.
Boys need to bring a pencil, pen, and eraser. There will be a short break through the session and the boys will need to bring a snack and labelled water bottle with them. Please send your son in his current primary school uniform (what he would normally wear on this day).
Your son should not feel stressed or anxious by the testing process, as preparation and study for the test is not necessary and at CBC Fremantle every boy's academic journey is equally planned and valued.
If your son cannot attend on this date, and you have not already advised the College, please email enrol@cbcfremantle.wa.edu.au as soon as possible.
Orientation Day - Monday 2 December 2024
The date of the Orientation Day for all students commencing Year 7 in 2025 is Monday 2 December 2024 and this will require your son's attendance for the full day at CBC Fremantle. The day commences at 8.30 am and concludes at 3.00 pm.
We will begin the day with an address in the Gymnasium, then move to some classroom-based work and conclude with relaxed afternoon activities.
Dress for the day should be the CBC Fremantle House shirt and sports shorts, however, if you have not purchased his uniform before Orientation Day your son can just wear a shirt in the colour of his allocated House with sports shorts and sneakers.
On Orientation Day, students will have their photos taken for Smartriders and SEQTA ID before the commencement of the 2025 school year.
We strongly encourage boys to have a 'CBC haircut' in preparation for Orientation Day. A CBC haircut is short (off the ears, off the collar and out of the eyes, if they can tuck their fringe behind their ears, it's too long), neat, and not shaved below a number 3. Any difference in hair length needs to be blended in rather than a radical length change.
If this cannot be done for Orientation Day, it is a requirement for Day 1 of Term 1 that haircuts are appropriate and meet College standards.
Boys should bring food for the recess break. The College will provide a drink and barbecue lunch for the students. Should you have any concerns regarding any allergies, please feel free to send food with your son.
Parents are requested to attend the first part of the day until approximately 9.10 a.m. During this time, you will be provided with important information and can meet your son's Head of House. Following this, parents and caregivers are welcome to stay for light refreshments and a chance to meet, and connect with other families.
